Journey's founding member Neal Schon expressed disappointment on social media towards bandmates Arnel Pineda, Ross Valory, and Jonathan Cain who recently visited the White House and met with U.S. President Donald Trump without his prior knowledge.

"I will remain strong and consistent with the belief we've always shared and agreed upon - Journey should never be used and exploited by anyone, especially band members for politics or any one religion," he wrote on a Facebook post. "I've been here since 1972 and this has always been our belief. This was with intent to exploit the brand and use the name... I had no prior knowledge of this from anyone. Not band members or Management. This clearly shows no respect or Unity. Just Divide."

The Filipino singer responded to the backlash on Twitter, explaining that he doesn't "belong to any political group".

The legendary guitarist, who discovered Arnel on YouTube, said it's not about Trump but the "betrayal of members". He also alluded to other issues within the band.

In our MYXclusive interview with Arnel Pineda who's back in the country for his upcoming 50th birthday concert, he reiterated the White House visit had nothing to do with politics or religion. "Ako, ang intention ko i-grab yung opportunity as a Filipino. I mean, coming from where I came from, siyempre masyado akong fascinated na makapasok sa Oval Office mismo."

Amidst fans' worries over disbandment rumors, the Filipino pride also shared his hopes of reconciliation between the members of Journey! Watch Arnel address the controversy below:
