MYXclusive: SECONDHAND SERENADE Has A Message For BRUNO MARS!

It's hard to believe, but it has already been 10 years since American rock band Secondhand Serenade served us with few tears and a lot of smiles through their debut album Awake. And yes, a music just like theirs is still impossible to find.
To commemorate the milestone, they have repackaged the chart-topping record as Awake: Remixed and Remastered, 10 Years & 10, 000 Tears Later last February. "Ten years is a long time and you know, Awake was the first album that I ever created and wrote and I just felt like it was a time to you know, pay tribute to it," John Vesely said during our MYXclusive phone interview. "I feel like I owed it to my fans. I feel like I owed it to myself... It feels wonderful. I feel like it's nostalgic to me as well."
And while John's well aware and "proud" to be part of the emo music scene, he has hinted willingness to take a step forward to other genres in the name of working with Grammy-winning singer Bruno Mars!
"To me, he reminds me of David Bowie - he plays just what he wants to play. It's so refreshing to see artist do that and to be capable of doing that. He's really a brilliant artist and also a brilliant writer so I really look up to what he does," John explained.
We're feeling half-alive for this dream collab so here's John trying to make it happen. Listen to what he has to say to Bruno Mars below:
