George Michael may be gone but his influence on pop culture will live on forever.

He made a name for himself in the 1980s as part of Wham! before launching a successful solo career. Among his many hits are "Faith", "Careless Whisper" and the timeless, "Last Christmas".But unknown to many, the multi-awarded singer left a special gem in the industry - James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke"!

In The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last June, Corden revealed that the singer was the inspiration for the late night comedy segment. The first carpool karaoke was a part of the sketch Corden made for British charity Comic Relief in 2011, "the original idea was to pick George Michael up from prison in a car...but what if there is still fun for me and George to be in the car and we'll sing some Wham! songs."

Playing his character from the sitcom Gavin and Stacey - Smithy, Corden drives around with Michael in the front passenger seat, singing the most popular songs of the singer's former group. Watch the sketch below!
