Route 196, one of the most popular venues in Metro Manila for live music aficionados, announced that it is closing its doors. The Katipunan Ave. bar has been a great home for local musicians and fans alike since 2006.

The official social media accounts of Route 196 posted a statement on its impending closure. Along with an animated clip of the marquee of the famed live music venue, the management wrote "Alas, we’re at the end of the road for Route 196."

"We may be walking towards a different direction for now, but we wanted to make sure you had something to always remind you of our crazy ride together, the things we learned, the noise we made, the rules we broke, and the friends we picked up along the way. So here, take us with you in your next journey. And never forget that, for 15 years, all roads led to Route 196," read the statement which left fans heartbroken.

Superb live music from OPM acts, good food, ice-cold beer, and great company... Route 196 will be missed for sure! Let's all rewatch these MYX Bandarito performances which were filmed at Route 196:
