MARIAH CAREY Shares Timely And Powerful Song "Save The Day"

After announcing that she's releasing her new compilation album The Rarities this October, Mariah Carey unveiled the track called "Save The Day" in digital platforms.

“This one is for you, my fans. It’s to celebrate us, and to thank you for years of pure love and support. I am so grateful to you,” the diva tweeted about The Rarities.

The first single "Save The Day" was produced by her longtime friend and collaborator Jermaine Dupri. It samples the vocals of iconic singer Lauryn Hill in The Fugees' version of "Killing Me Softly".

MC and JD started crafting "Save The Day" back in 2011 but did not get to finish it until recently. The two realized how fitting the song's lyrics were for the current situation of the world.

"It happened organically that the lyrics are so apropos to this exact moment," Mariah said during their Zoom party before its official release.

"To me this is a Mariah Carey record from her heart," Jermaine added. Listen to "Save The Day" below:
