Iconic Filipino queer superhero Zsazsa Zaturnnah's next epic adventure will take place via a full-length animated movie.

Zsazsa Zaturnnah vs The Amazonistas of Planet X was one of the winners at the Open Doors program of Switzerland’s Locarno Film Festival. The prize is a development support of 14,000 CHF, equivalent to around P750,000.

Filmmaker Avid Liongoren announced the exciting news on Facebook and shared how he pitched the concept to the jury. He wrote: "More than the money, this is very important to us because it adds validation to the viability of this project. We have had so many rejections prior to this so it's so awesome to have a win, our second win on our second market!!!"

Zsazsa Zaturnnah was previously awarded funding by the international project market of Bucheon Interantional Fantastic Film Festival.

The creation of Carlo Vergara revolves around a gay man named Adrian (also known as Ada) who swallows a space rock and gains superpowers. A teaser for the project was first unveiled last April and its astonishing visuals just proves how far Pinoy animation has come. Check it out here:
