KATY PERRY Makes Filipino KatyCats "Smile" In Surprise Virtual Meet-And-Greet
Katy Perry gave some very lucky Filipino KatyCats a huge surprise that will certainly put a “Smile” on their faces for a long time.
MCA Music invited these fans to an exclusive “music video viewing party” and even asked them to be prepared to answer some questions from the media. But little did they know that their pregnant idol would be the interviewer herself!
A banner appeared on the Zoom conference screen asking everyone to welcome the guest interviewer. A short clip of her upcoming album's title track “Smile” followed and then all of a sudden, Katy Perry herself joined the fun!
This unforgettable fan experience surprised her die-hard KatyCats who couldn't believe that they were actually interacting with their favorite pop star. Katy was also visibly thrilled and she even showed her baby bump to everyone.
This is a very precious opportunity for Filipino KatyCats as she probably won’t be doing press for a long time since we’re expecting the arrival of baby Perry-Bloom in the coming months.
Fans were also unanimous that this upcoming fifth album could be her most awesome record yet. The 35-year old singer is so excited for Smile to come out and joked that she’s very passionate in doing album promotions like this surprise fan presscon even though she also needs more time to relax for her “babycat”.
She also teased that the songs “Teary Eyes” and “Resilient” are certified bangers but deep and emotional. And yes, the songs have a “Fuck 2020 but I’m just gonna keep dancing” and “I am crying but I am okay” kind of vibe.
Since Filipinos love melodramatic and heart-rending anthems, fans wanted to know if there’s a painful ballad in the album as well. Katy revealed that the last track “What Makes A Woman” is the song that they are looking for.
Before bidding her fans goodbye at the virtual press conference, Katy proudly said that this album comes with pop songs with different sounds and she really had fun recording it. She already misses performing live and seeing her Filipino KatyCats’ costumes and makeup in her concerts. “Thank you for everything and I hope to see you in the Philippines,” she told everyone.
Smile, Katy Perry’s fifth studio album, drops this August 28! In the meantime, watch her performance video of the title track here:
