ZILD Reveals Current Status Of IV OF SPADES Following Solo Album Release
Zild Benitez talked about his solo debut album Homework Machine and other things he's up to these days in our MYXclusive interview.
Talking about the process of doing his 10-track solo offering, the IV of Spades bassist said that the entire project was created out of impulse. The record's title was actually inspired by a book he read in fifth grade, "The Homework Machine." Zild revealed that he even asked for the consent of its American author if he could use the title. Thankfully, Zild found his e-mail online and he received a simple "okay" as a reply.
Aside from his solo venture, Zild shared that he's cooking something up with his side project Manila Magic. "Hindi ko masyadong pinaplano,e. Pero sa ngayon, may side project ako dati, yung Manila Magic, so may tina-try kaming gawin."
During the latter part of the interview, Zild gave an update on IV of Spades' status as a band. According to him, they're currently on pause and are making the most out of their free time to focus on themselves and their respective families.
When asked how he, Blaster, and Badjao keep in touch during quarantine, Zild shared: "Parang ano, e, wala rin masyado. Parang pahinga kami as bandmates."
If there's one song in his solo album Zild would dedicate to their fans, it would be "iiwanan ng lahat".
On future collaborations, Zild said that he's not thinking about it yet but he's open to writing songs for other acts.
