While the entertainment and music scene were struck by the effects of COVID-19 pandemic, artists decided to slowly adjust and come to grips with the so-called “new normal”.

For IV OF SPADES bassist and vocalist Zild Benitez, the quarantine life paved the way for him to further enhance his craft and create more music on his own. The result? His newly released solo album Homework Machine!

“I don’t think I would be able to create this record if I didn’t have this leisure of time and privilege. Besides, one the main reasons why I created this record is to keep myself occupied and avoid extreme ride of emotions,” Zild revealed in a statement.

“The advantage of creating something at home is you don’t have all the gear that everyone is dreaming of. I believe that limitations stir up creativity,” he added.

The vibe of his previously released tracks “Sinungaling” and “Dila” - which is currently on the MYX charts - were surprisingly refreshing, proving that the self-isolation made Zild grow more as an artist.

Homework Machine is now out in digital platforms under Warner Music Philippines.
