"We Deserve Better": NADINE LUSTRE Shares Powerful Message
Nadine Lustre took to social media to call for change in the country—the same day that President Rodrigo Duterte delivered his fifth State of the Nation Address or SONA.
In an Instagram post, the singer-actress—who is also referred to by fans as "President"—shared a powerful message to fans: "Pagbabago, hindi abuso. Pagkakaisa, 'wag mang-isa. Hawak kamay, 'wag hugas kamay. I'm a Filipino. I stand for my country. We deserve better!"
She then captioned her post with "Nakikiisa sa bayan na lumalaban" with the hashtags #ItoAngSONAko and #SONAgkaisa.
Several other Filipino artists and musicians joined #SONAgKAISA, a virtual concert staged as a protest coinciding with President Duterte's fifth SONA. A physical demonstration was also held at the University of the Philippines in Diliman.
