ARNEL PINEDA Says JOURNEY Might Release An EP This Year
Good news for all Journey fans! In a MYXclusive interview, Filipino singer-songwriter Arnel Pineda—the legendary rock band's current frontman—has teased a possible EP release within the year.
Asked what he has been up to while the world is in lockdown, the 52-year-old revealed that the iconic band is looking forward to releasing an EP later this year. The project, he said, is injected with some R&B influences.
So far, Journey already finished the first single, which Arnel revealed to be titled "The Way We Used To Be". The track, according to him, is a makeup song about past internal conflict within the band. Watch him sing a few lines from the unreleased track in our MYXclusive interview below:
Aside from making new music with Journey, the Pinoy Pride shared how he has been keeping himself busy writing songs for his solo album. "Mas uninterrupted yung pagsusulat ko ngayon. [That's why] I’m much happier with the result of my songwriting," he said.
In fact, fans already got their first taste of new solo material from Arnel in "Your Soldiers", a tribute song for COVID-19 frontliners, which was released under Star Music last May 28.
