Even before officially jumping into the entertainment industry, actor-singer Jeric Gonzales had already achieved a dream that many others can only imagine: to open a show for renowned international balladeer David Pomeranz!

It happened just when he decided to take his chance to be an actor, which meant putting aside his nursing board exams. "Marami na nagsasabi sa akin na pwede ako mag-artista. Ako naman, dine-deny ko sa sarili ko kasi nursing talaga yung focus ko," the Calamba Doctors' College graduate explained. Eventually though, he gave his 'yes' to current manager Archie Ilagan who was producing David's show and handpicked him to be the front act.

Jeric recalled initially doubting himself upon hearing the news. "Sabi ko, 'Anong gagawin ko do'n? David Pomeranz yun.' To be a front act of an international artist, parang di ko kaya yun."

But looking at it as his stepping stone, Jeric made it. He sang Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" and Ronnie Liang's "Ngiti in the said concert. "Sobrang nakakakaba pero memorable kasi, para makasama mo si David Pomeranz, nakaka-proud. It's an honor," he explained to VJs Ai dela Cruz and Dani Mortel in a MYXclusive interview.

Later, Jeric became the grand winner of GMA's talent search Protégé, he starred in a number of television shows, and released songs including his revival of Introvoys' '90s hit "Line To Heaven." Needless to say, he's meant to be here, in the spotlight. Hear more of Jeric's future plans in the interview below with fellow Kapuso artist Psalms David:
