A 'Bird Box' Sequel Is In Development
Bird Box creator Josh Malerman confirmed that a sequel is in development over at Netflix.
The news comes just days before the release of the hit horror/sci-fi novel's next chapter titled Malorie which will follow the lead characters 12 years after the events of the first book.
In an interview with Inverse, Malerman revealed that the streaming service will adapt his second book. "I can't say much, but I can say that it is in development. Sometimes it’s weird, all this secrecy, but I'm game."
The 2018 adaptation of the book starred Sandra Bullock, Trevante Rhodes, Sarah Paulson, and child actors Vivien Lyra Blair and Julian Edwards who played Girl and Boy respectively. The film went on to achieve massive success, receiving the most first-week streaming views than any other Netflix Original film in history.
