SPONGE COLA Starts Recording Again, Teases Two New Songs

After four months in quarantine, Sponge Cola revealed they are back to work - at their respective homes! The veteran band has already recorded a couple of songs: one is mapanakit while the other's uplifting.
The former is titled "Naghihilom, Natututo" which marks their first time working with Star Music producer Jonathan Manalo. They actually finished the song right before the quarantine, vocalist Yael Yuzon shared.
"It's a song about people who disregard their feelings for the sake of being with someone—yung parang nagpapaka-friend ka kahit it hurts."
Meanwhile, the latter song called "Lumipas Ang Tag-Araw" will go a lighter direction, as suggested by noted sound engineer Angee Rozul.
"I was writing a song while driving. And weird kasi bigla akong naging strangely emotional. Bigla lang akong naluluha nang walang dahilan," narrated Yael. "Gusto kong gumawa ng song na happy, na uplifting. Tapos at the same time, yung rest of the band, nakipag-online inuman with our sound engineer and sabi nung sound engineer namin, baka maganda meron sanang song na light lang na quarantine-related pero not necessarily 'let's do this, let's fight...' Something that will make you feel it's okay without saying it's okay."
