Fresh from releasing a new version of his 2012 hit single "Marry Your Daughter" with the help of Philippine-based label Tarsier Records' founder Moophs, international singer-songwriter Brian McKnight Jr. has another collaboration on the way featuring yet another Filipino talent!
Whether it was intentional or slip of the tongue, Junior revealed it himself during a MYXclusive interview. "I ended up doing a duet with Kyla that I really hope would come out soon because it's incredible," he shared while recalling attending a pre-Grammy Filipino luncheon and meeting a few Filipinos.
Asked by VJ Ai dela Cruz to give out a little teaser of what to expect from it, the American hitmaker just said, "It's an original song... It's probably my favorite duet. I haven't heard anyone in this modern age, in the last few years at the very least, do a duet like we've done it. It's a happy song. It's all about love."
Junior even praised the Philippines' Queen of R&B for being professional and sweet. "It was so impromptu how we put it together. It just ended up being so perfect."
There's no set date yet on when it's going to drop. But while we wait, we might as well hope for Junior's other dream collabs to come to pass which include Dua Lipa and Coldplay's Chris Martin, and perhaps Usher whom he just sent a demo to!
Junior also dished out on how Taylor Swift's song "Love Story" actually inspired "Marry Your Daughter" and what he thinks about Tarsier Records taking back his hit to its home, the Philippines. Watch VJs Ai and Edward Barber have a fun chat with him in this MYXclusive interview.
