Vanilla Ice decided to cancel his upcoming show in Austin, Texas to celebrate the Fourth of July.

The rapper's concert coinciding with U.S. Independence Day was announced earlier this week and faced some backlash amid social distancing concerns. But due to COVID-19's recent spike in the state, the show won't be pushing through anymore.

The "Ice Ice Baby" hitmaker took to his socials to apologize to his fans, saying "I listen to my fans. I hear all you people out there." He also shared that he wasn't aware of the coronavirus situation in Texas. "I didn’t know the [COVID-19] numbers were so crazy in Austin. We were hoping it would be a lot better by the Fourth of July because we booked this concert a long time ago… but it turned into a big focal point on me and it’s not about that."
