HONNE Introduces Fresh Sound On New Mixtape ‘No Song Without You’
Refusing to rest on their laurels, HONNE expressed their desire to keep evolving and experimenting. After listening to their mixtape no song without you, we're pretty sure they did a great job at signposting a fresh new sound.
For their latest release, the duo of Andy Clutterbuck and James Hatcher stripped everything back and channeled the psychedelic, infectious, care-free romanticism of the 1960s and bands like The Beatles. With still deeply emotive lyrics now bouncing off soothing beats, the 14-track effort is sure to keep your mind off the chaos of the outside world.
From the massive tracklist, fans only heard of the title track prior to the project's official release. So when we got our hands on the full mixtape, it was like having gained access to a secret listening session with the hitmakers—apparently, one where we keep our favorite tracks "by my side", "free love", "one way to tokyo", and "loving you is so easy" in an endless loop.
Notably, HONNE also included two quarantine-inspired tracks on the record. The track "s o c i a l d i s t a n c i n g" playfully warns us to stay the hell away from people considering our current situation while "smile more smile more smile more" serves as a reminder to live our lives to the fullest.
