JKRIS Has Songs To Match Your Every Mood
Asked about how he would describe his sound, JKris was at a loss for words. Initially, the up-and-coming artist was introduced as a contemporary R&B artist, but over the course of the quarantine period, he admitted to having written four rap songs.
"Usually mahilig ako sa love songs pero yung mga ginawa ko ngayon puro rap eh," he told MYX in an exclusive interview. He added that one of the songs he finished was about someone who aspires of becoming an artist, but is too lazy to make his dreams come true.
As the interview progressed, JKris—the son of Sly Kane of hip-hop duo Blaze N Kane—settled on describing his music as "halo-halo" since he offers acoustic, rap, and sometimes, trap. He further explained: "Kaya iba-iba kasi yung ginawa kong song para kung gusto mo ma-hype, papakinggan mo 'yung kanta kong 'to. 'Pagka depressed ka or sad ka sa relationship niyo, pakinggan mo 'yung 'Tsansa'".
Well, if that's the case, here's your guide to which JKris song you should plug into based on your current mood:
For when you're feeling horribly guilty for taking your lover for granted: "Tsansa"
His latest release, as he calls it, is a "sorry song."
For when you're not ready to let go of a past love: "Sa Kanya"
Here JKris puts his own spin to an OPM classic and makes us yearn for a love we won't receive.
For when you're fed up with others meddling in your life: "Pamaypay"
As expected, this collab with seasoned rapper Gloc 9 touches on socially-relevant issues.
For when you're feeling betrayed: "Peke"
According to JKris, "Peke" is based on his personal experience and stories he heard from friends.
