KANYE WEST Revives ‘Yeezus’ Sound In "Wash Us In The Blood" Collab With TRAVIS SCOTT
Kanye West’s new song “Wash Us In The Blood” is a glorious return to the Yeezus era. Ushered in on a pulsing and chaotic beat, the Travis Scott-assisted track is the first taste off his upcoming album God’s Country.
The song release is accompanied by a rapid-cut video directed by Arthur Jafa. It features clips of police brutality, the late Breonna Taylor dancing, Ahmaud Arbery just before his killing, people in masks struggling to breathe, and more. By the end of the video, Kanye can be heard saying, “Wash us in the blood of Jesus, Holy Spirit come down, we need you now” as a clip of his daughter North West plays.
In support of the Black Lives Matter movement, the rap veteran has reportedly made a whopping $2 million donation to the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. He was also spotted protesting with a crowd of demonstrators in Chicago in early June.
