'Frozen' Director Of Story Gives Update About Possibility Of Third Movie
The success of Frozen 2 left the door open for a third installment but according to Director of Story Marc Smith, they've yet to entertain the idea of doing Frozen 3.
In an interview with Collider, Smith revealed that discussions have yet to be made regarding the future of the icy franchise. He explained: "We have not had that discussion. I think Frozen 2 is still too close to everyone’s minds and ideas to think about what happens beyond, beyond that."
The Disney animator also shared the most fulfilling thing about doing the film series. "It’s the most rewarding thing in the world for me to go to Disneyland or on Halloween and see kids dressed in our characters’ costumes, because it means there was a connection made there," Smith said. "As an artist, being able to have an audience that you can try to connect with in a way that’s meaningful to you. And when that is meaningful to them, there’s just really nothing better for an artist. For anyone I would imagine, but I certainly feel that way."
Frozen 2 premiered last November and shattered box office records, becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time, earning 1.5 billion dollars worldwide.
