JAKE ZYRUS Has A Message To The LGBTQIA Community For #PrideMonth
Jake Zyrus has a message to the LGBTQIA community this Pride Month!
“Always be yourself but be understanding of others as well. Sobrang tina-try natin to push equality. While we’re doing that, open our eyes to understand others,” said Jake who is perhaps one of the most prominent OPM artists who belongs to the community.
“Whether you don’t understand or accept the person, at least respect them. Hindi pare-pareho ang paniniwala natin,” he added.
In celebration of Pride Month, Jake has released a new single called “Love Even If”. When asked if he can give his old self Charice a message that begins with “Love even if”, he said “Sakto yung chorus ng song!” which goes Love even when it hurts / You just keep on loving / 'Til it hurts no more.
“Sa Charice kasi lahat napunta 'yung struggle at pain. That’s what I exactly did when I’m still Charice,” he explained.
Meanwhile, a documentary based on his life - Jake and Charice - triumphed in this year's US International Film and Video Festival under the social issues category. He's also releasing the new song “Miss You In The Moonlight” this July.
