Earth Day Jam 2020 To Push Through With Virtual Live Experience
At first, Earthday Jam Foundation head span style="color:#FF8C00;">Lou Bonnevie was against the idea of holding an online show instead of the traditional live concert for the organization's 20th anniversary. After all, the yearly event, in her words, aims to inspire people to "drop off their cellphones and hug a tree, feel each other, shake hands, [and] feel the surroundings."
But all that changed when the veteran performer came to realize that she has the perfect avenue to send a message across, "that life has to go on, and we cannot lose our sight on the environmental crisis ahead of us."
Earth Jam Sessions will be held on June 27 at 8:30 p.m. on the official Facebook page of the Earthday Jam Foundation. The at-home show will include live performances from Lou herself, Nyoy Volante, Rouge, Gloc-9, Lirah, Autotelic, Ice Seguerra, Jaya, Karylle, Kiara of Imago, Sandwich, The Itchyworms, and Zsa Zsa Padilla.
The foundation will also launch the songwriting contest Kantalikhasan, which will be open to all Filipinos aged 30 years old and below, either individual or in groups. Watch the full MYXclusive interview below to know more about the upcoming event:
This year's Earthday Jam event is slated as a fundraiser, benefiting the foundation's future events including more online concerts, tree planting, nursery seedling building, art sessions, and other competitions. "We would like to appeal to our Earth jammers and to donors and to people who believe in music, who believe in the artists, who believe in the things that we’re doing, sharing and creating awareness for everyone, especially the young people, and the things that we can do in the lineup for the whole year, kailangan po talaga naming ng donations," Lou pleaded.
