Here's Why AMANDA SEYFRIED Turned Down Role In 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'
A lot of you probably aren't aware of this but Mean Girls star Amanda Seyfried was the original choice to play Gamora in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
Now, the Hollywood stunner is opening up about the superhero film and why she turned down the chance to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with ComicBook, the 34-year-old actress said she thinks about it a lot but revealed that she's not a viewer of the MCU. "I’m not really a Marvel movie watcher, which is, I think, why I was just like, ‘Ah, I don’t wanna be green. It’s just so much work.’"
She later added that the prosthetic aspect was the main reason she turned it down. "I remember Jennifer Lawrence talking about once, how long it took her to get blue and I was like, 'That seems like hell on earth,' because then you get to set and you're only there for a couple hours, and then you have to take everything off. And that was literally the reason."
The role ultimately ended up being portrayed by Zoe Saldana who's been with the MCU since 2014. She's set to reprise the character in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which is expected to hit cinemas in 2022.
