How to Make a Long Distance Relationship Work if You're Clingy
Maan de Vera
Long distance relationships aren’t for the faint of heart especially if you didn’t sign up for it. In an era of community quarantine, we’ve seen many couples simply fall apart because seeing each other as often (or at all) is simply no longer possible. We totally get it, not seeing your S.O. is difficult, and we can imagine that it can only be harder for those who are clingy.
But fret not, there’s still hope. Here are 3 ways to make your relationship work even when you’re away from bae.
1. Stop comparing.
There are many who are now going on regular dates. While we don’t judge them, this isn’t exactly the wisest thing to do right now. There are also others who are quarantined together. Remember that there is a very good reason as to why you can’t be with your S.O. as much as you want right now.
2. Make technology your best friend.
If there is a silver lining right now, that is it’s easy to stay virtually connected these days. Make the most out of social media, chat apps, and other fun stuff that you can do online. Just remember to always be vocal about how you feel especially when you’re getting lonely. Also, listen to your S.O. when they’re opening up.
3. Have stuff delivered to their place.
It doesn’t even have to be anything expensive. You can send love notes, their favorite food, or even a shirt with your scent on it. This way, even if you can’t be physically there for them just yet, it will surely be great if you can make them feel special with something that is actually tangible.
Know that this pandemic will eventually be over, but your relationship doesn’t have to. There are many great feats that love has conquered and we’re sure that you can power through the distance until it’s safe to be physically together again. For now, you just need to stay healthy, strong, and at home.
