After the initial excitement over the return of Kapamilya shows via the new Kapamilya Channel, some were taken aback with the cancellation of other fan favorites including Make It With You starring Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.

In a message addressed to solid followers of MIWY, Liza opened up about the cast and crew's decision to discontinue the show. "I know a lot of you are upset and looking for answers and the only explanation I can give you is genuine fear of the virus," her Instagram post read. "When we were asked to resume taping on June 13, many of us had hesitations. Considering that the COVID-19 situation here in the Philippines is far from contained, there are many risks in place for me (and everyone involved) given my history of having a weak immune system."

She added, "I consulted my family, my managers, and the team and we all came to an agreement that it might be for the best to not continue with the show anymore." She also apologized for not being able to give their fans "the ending they deserve."

MIWY ran from January 13 to March 13. It was temporarily replaced by the 2016 hit drama On The Wings of Love starting March 16 after the network announced that it will halt productions of shows in compliance with community quarantine guidelines.
