LOOK: "Baka Bukas" Wins At 29th Vancouver Queer Film Festival!

The Cinema One Originals movie Baka Bukas just won the highest honor at the 29th Vancouver Queer Film Festival in Canada!

Throughout the 11-day run of the queer fest, 28 features and 42 short films were shown. The Filipino film directed by Samantha Lee bagged the 2017 OUTtvGo People's Choice Award for Best Feature.

Baka Bukas is about a closeted lesbian (Jasmine Curtis-Smith) who harbors feelings for her best friend (Louise delos Reyes). It bagged the Audience Choice award at the Cinema One Originals 2016 while Curtis-Smith won Best Actress. Director Lee also won the Emerging Talent Award at the Outfest held in Los Angeles last July.
