RENEE DOMINIQUE On Why She Didn't Pursue Theater Arts
There's always a joy in wondering what could have been. In the case of Reneé Dominique, it's pursuing theater arts which, she believes, is a "unique calling."
In a recent MYXclusive interview, the 21-year-old artist revealed that she took Theatre Arts in UP Diliman because "I wanted to discover the other side of entertainment, which is Broadway and theater."
After a while, Reneé came to a realization: "I really didn’t see myself in that world but it was good that I actually have to learn their whole culture."
But when asked if she would still accept a role in a musical if an offer comes, the singer-songwriter answered in the affirmative. "I’m definitely open to the experience," she confessed, before adding that the topic is "something I’ve been discussing with my family for a while."
Elsewhere in the interview, Reneé, who just got back from doing promo tours in Los Angeles with Jason Mraz, once again broke down into detail their collab "Could I Love You Anymore" and how the hitmaker has become her role model—both in life and in music. Watch the entire interview below:
