DJ Loonyo, who first generated social media buzz for his eye-opening coronavirus story in China, is now drawing flak for his recent comments about mass testing for the disease.

When asked about his take regarding on mass testing in the country in a livestream appearance, Loonyo said "Oh my God" as he shook his head. He added: "I just don’t know. It’s like, gagana ba itong bagay na ito sa ganitong ano? 'Di ba? I don't know ano gagamitin nila sa mass testing, but kung ano ipapainom nila, kung ano ipapagawa nila.... It’s a trial and error, kaya it’s mass testing."

His comments didn't sit well with a lot of people who slammed him all over social media for his apparent lack of knowledge regarding the issue.

The social media sensation later addressed the issue and released a public apology, explaining that he had "clinical trials" instead of "mass testing" in mind when he responded to the question. "Nakakalungkot isipin na sa loob ng 2 oras na live with my friends/fam, 5 minutes lang yung kinuha at pinuna. First off, I apologize for the wrong use of terminology in that particular instance. My point is not particulary about the “Covid Mass Testing”; I was actually referring to "CLINICAL TRIALS". I understand that the use of terminology is critical, so I apologize for any confusion caused." Read his full statement below:
