HILERA Is 90 Percent Done With First Album In A Decade
Good news for longtime fans of Hilera! The OPM rock band revealed in a recent MYXclusive interview that the next album—their first in a decade—is slowly coming together. Frontman Chris Padilla let it slip that the new record titled String Fury is about 90 percent done. However, recording has been temporarily halted since their producer has been stuck in Singapore for months now due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Drummer Bobby Padilla teased that String Fury boasts of more aggressive songs. Chris seconded, "This will be our heaviest album so far. I guess mas melodic in a way like all the melodies that we’re doing now are medyo different na din. Kumbaga dahil na rin sa influences and four albums later, this is us [now]."
So far, the band has already rolled out two singles off the album starting with "Saglit". The said music video was meant as an introduction to the new lineup—Chris on vocals, Bobby on drums, Conrad Javier on guitar, and newcomer Ely Villar on bass guitar. The track, according to Chris, is about "spur-of-the-moment things" like meeting someone who doesn't stick for a long time.
For the second single "Isa", the band plans on shooting a proper music video with fellow rakista Arci Muñoz. For now, fans can enjoy the black-and-white vertical video which they shot while on quarantine.
