SZA Plans To Drop 20+ Unreleased Tracks From The Last 6 Years
Sza is here to help keep our minds occupied while we wait out the COVID-19 pandemic.
The neo-soul artist recently took to Twitter to announce her plans of releasing around 20 unreleased tracks that she has kept over the course of six years. She described the concept of the rollout as something "similar to a photo dump but not an album."
So like a music dump .. similar to a photo dump but not an album .. this concept make sense to anyone? Has anyone ever done it ? Asking for me 🤔— SZA (@sza) May 25, 2020
Nah an Ep is like 4-5 songs .. a music dump would be like 20 from over the.l Course of the last 6 years https://t.co/G5xdcLx2lI— SZA (@sza) May 25, 2020
One fan pointed out that the concept can be categorized as a mixtape as it is "a mix of things that have come together and have no other place to fit artistically for projects," and Sza immediately gave her stamp of approval. "I like this," she said in response. "Very much thank you!"
I like this . Very much thank you ! https://t.co/xTinTv647f— SZA (@sza) May 25, 2020
When another fan brought up the idea of selling the compilation to raise funds for a good cause, the 29-year-old artist said she wants to "sell it for charity" especially since a lot of people are "hurting to make a dollar [right now.]"
Def tryna sell it for charity .. too many ppl hurting to make a dollar rn https://t.co/YcU7yXGr09— SZA (@sza) May 25, 2020
This is very exciting news for longtime Sza fans especially after the hitmaker confirmed that she has decided to no longer release the deluxe edition of her 2017 debut studio album CTRL.
