Department of Agriculture Names JAMES REID As Ambassador of Food Security
James Reid is set to take on a new role as the newest Ambassador on Food Security of the Department of Agriculture.
On Tuesday morning, the DA announced the singer-actor's appointment during the launch of its Plant, Plant, Plant program in an effort to promote the industry to the youth.

According to a report on the department's website, the Plant, Plant, Plant initiative aims to benefit farmers, fishers and consumers, and "seeks to increase national agri-fishery output through intensified use of quality seeds, appropriate inputs, modern technologies to increase levels of productivity across all commodities, and thus ensure food productivity, availability, accessibility and affordability amidst the threat of Covid-19 pandemic."
Posting a photo from the program launch, James wrote in an Instagram post, "LETS GROOOW 🤟🏼Thank you to the Department of Agriculture and Secretary [William] Dar for trusting me with the role of Ambassador of Food Security. Thanks for the gift 🌱 Can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on during quarantine!"
