After being hospitalized earlier this month following an injury he sustained from his gardening escapades, Queen guitarist Brian May has revealed that there's apparently more to his condition than just a minor hip injury.

Giving fans an update on his Intagram, May opened up about the accident, revealing that he's been feeling nerve pain that is affecting his brain. "I’ve always been a bit of a big shot about my tolerance to pain levels - like not getting Novocaine jabs at the dentist or whatever - But this nerve pain which came to inhabit my body about three weeks ago - no, it wasn’t a glute thing after all - has paralysed my brain," he wrote.

He added, "I felt it took over my personality. I woke up feeling that somehow the pain WAS me, and I was struggling to get back in my body. And I did give in and take the heavy duty painkillers, and in the end I was in a nightmare world."

I’ve got some great help with pain management and rehabilitation. Today I can sit and potter slowly around holding on to things with almost no pain. It’s incredible what real pain does to you. I’ve always been a bit of a big shot about my tolerance to pain levels - like not getting Novocaine jabs at the dentist or whatever - But this nerve pain which came to inhabit my body about three weeks ago - no, it wasn’t a glute thing after all - has paralysed my brain. I felt it took over my personality. I woke up feeling that somehow the pain WAS me, and I was struggling to get back in my body. And I did give in and take the heavy duty painkillers, and in the end I was in a nightmare world. The only thing to do was kick it all and come out. But I could only do that because I got some great physio help and some osteopathy. I’ll tell you the whole story sometime, but for now ... happy weekend - I hope everyone of you can find a spot to enjoy the life-giving sunshine. Bri

In a previous post he shared over the weekend, the rock legend said that his current condition requires the use of crutches.

In a new update, Brian shared that he is once again able to play his guitar and is in less pain. Check out his MicroConcert performance of his solo single "Last Horizon" here. Get well soon, Good Sire!

#jamwithBri. Very rough and ready, this, and, without any accompaniment, you can hear all the places where I’m struggling to get sustain from the little amp, and the moments when my fingers, already soft from inactivity, complain about the bending of the strings !! But this is reality - and I hope it’s helpful for all of you folks who asked for a version of this tune here. My ramblings afterwards are about my concept of expanding coronavirus-free bubbles - which may perhaps start some discussion. I actually thought of it a couple of weeks ago but I was in too much pain to video it. I’m planning to put an account of my whole recent story up. I thought it was way too long and involved to put on Instagram or IGTV, but in the end this is probably the most personal way of doing it.. Cheers all - Bri
