Fans of American author Rick Riordan's critically-acclaimed Percy Jackson series finally got to heave a sigh of relief. The anger and dismay over the injustice done to a good literature has recently been replaced with over-the-top excitement as the best-selling author announced that a new television series based on the novels is currently in the works.

And Logan Lerman, who played the titular character in the two film adaptations, voiced his support for the project. "Excited to see this! Hope it gets the adaptation the books deserve. Congrats @rickriordan," the 28-year-old actor wrote in a tweet.

Although both book lovers and movie buffs hated the book-to-big-screen Percy Jackson adaptation, they made it a point to reassure the actor that he did a great job portraying his character as the son of Poseidon. "I hope [Logan Lerman] knows he did nothing wrong he brought percy to life even with that bland ass script. [He] gave it all that he could," one fan tweeted.

Since its highly unlikely that Logan reprise his role, some fans have already started a petition to have the now-adult Logan make a cameo appearance on the new project as the god of the sea, Poseidon. "We need to make this happen," a Twitter user said in all caps.

And with the series still in very early stages and casting decisions are not made yet, we are hopeful that this plea reaches the production team and that they grant our wishes.
