Filipino-American singer Francisco Martin advanced to the Top 7 of American Idol after rendering a heartfelt rendition of "River" by Leon Bridges for his mom on Mother's Day.

"I don't know what happened but you have grown even more," Katy Perry, who stands as one of the judges alongside Lionel Ritchie and Luke Bryan, said after the performance. "This set of Mother's Day songs is really separating the pack. It's showing who deserves that top position and you are making it difficult for all these other contestants because that performance was so, so full and beautiful and real. It was so heartfelt what you just did."

The 18-year-old aspiring singer also performed "You'll Be In My Heart" from the Disney animated classic Tarzan during the episode. See it below:

Dillon James, Arthur Gunn, Louis Knight, Jonny West, Julia Gargano, and Just Sam also made it to the next round. Viewers will determine who will be part of the Top 5 next week through votes.
