ROBI DOMINGO Gets Emotional As He Talks About ABS-CBN Shutdown
A lot of people are still reeling days after ABS-CBN went off the air. The announcement of the Philippines' largest media network's shut down last May 5 left a lot of fans and personalities emotional, including our very own VJ Robi Domingo who couldn't contain his emotions as he talked about what transpired during the latest edition of the MYX It Up! podcast with VJ Ai dela Cruz.
VJ Robi has been a solid Kapamilya since exiting the Pinoy Big Brother house in 2008. Sharing his thoughts regarding the situation, he said: "Whenever I hear the [ABS-CBN theme], it gets me all the time... Whenever I hear that certain tune, I remember where I started and I remember how hard it is to produce one show and one event. "
Moments later, he started to well up. Struggling with his voice that was beginning to crack, he managed to say, "Naalala ko yung mga employees, yung mga crew, and their families who are gonna be affected so it was hard." The PBB and The Voice host also added that what really got to him was "seeing [ABS-CBN] shut down, nung sinabi na 'Hanggang sa muli, Kapamilya,'" which was one of the last messages flashed on-screen before turning black.
In our 6 years of friendship, this was the first time I saw Robi cry 💔 @robertmarion— Ai dela Cruz (@aidelacruz) May 7, 2020
