Marvel Fans Celebrate 18 Years Of TOBEY MAGUIRE's Spider-Man
18 years ago, our friendly neighborhood web-slinger made his big screen debut in Sony and Marvel's Spider-Man.
Still widely regarded today as one of the best superhero flicks of all time, the Tobey Maguire-starrer is beloved by fans - thanks to its overall tone that almost feels like it was taken straight out of a comic book. It also turned Tobey into a huge global star and the definitive Spidey for a lot of fans.
Directed by Sam Raimi, the franchise would spawn a trilogy that saw its end in 2007. And while it's still disappointing that a fourth movie never came into fruition, the original Spider-Man trilogy has held up pretty well after all these years.
Webheads all around the world celebrated the film's 18th anniversary. Check out some of the tweets here:

18 years ago today.. 🕷🕸 I could literally write an essay on how Spider-Man impacted my life (still does). I was 5 when I picked up my first Spidey comic book, then later watched the 1994 animated series. But when I heard they were making a MOVIE?! The rest is history y’all. pic.twitter.com/k2TAX4hbaP— Devin (@DevinScott64) May 3, 2020
