The film is reportedly in its early stages of development over at the House of Mouse with Jon Favreau (The Lion King), Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Endgame), and Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) all being considered to helm the project. Other details about the film are still being kept under wraps.

The Disney epic was first released in 1997 and is loosely based on ancient Greek Mythology. It follows Hercules' transition from "Zero to Hero" and his quest to rejoin the Gods on Mount Olympus. It's also best known for its official soundtrack "Go The Distance" performed by Michael Bolton.
