‘Hunger Games’ Prequel Film Is Reportedly In The Works
Lionsgate confirmed today that a Hunger Games prequel movie is in the works—just before renowned author Suzanne Collins releases her latest novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snake on May 19th.
As earlier reported, the prequel is set 64 years before the events of The Hunger Games and will introduce Coriolanus Snow or President Snow—the main antagonist of the Katniss Everdeen-centered original series—as the new protagonist.
As of now, there's no word yet on the casting for adaptation of the new novel. Francis Lawrence, who helmed the last three films in the critically acclaimed franchise, will return as director. Catching Fire writer Michael Arndt and producer Nina Jacobson are also expected to return.
