With so many things that are happening right now, it's perfectly normal to be sad and anxious. In fact, it's actually best that we embrace these feelings instead of denying them and pretending that we're fine when we're far from it. However, accepting our negative emotions doesn't necessarily mean that we'll just succumb to them and just wallow in the pits of our darkest feelings. In fact, this is an invitation for us to face our triggers head on and to truly overcome them.

There are many ways to confront our sadness and anxiety. Having a playlist with empowering worship songs is surely one of the great means to do this. Here are some of the songs that you can play to help you get through difficult times:

1. "Still" by Hillsong Worship

"When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with You above the storm
Father, You are King over the flood
I will be still, know You are God"

It's so easy to get lost in the chaos. This song is a great reminder to learn how to take a step back and breathe once things are overwhelming. This way, we won't lose sight of the things that truly matter to us.

2. "Head Above Water" by Avril Lavigne

"So God, keep my head above water
Don't let me drown, it gets harder
I'll meet you there at the altar
As I fall down to my knees"

It's funny how we find it hard to ask for help at our lowest points. However, the truth is: we are seldom truly helpless, we're just afraid to ask for it. This song is a reminder that it's okay to surrender and accept that there are things that are simply beyond our control.

3. "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)" by Hillsong United

"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Saviour"

Sometimes all it takes is a little bravery to snap out of the things that are causing us ill emotions. Taking the first step may seem impossible, but this song is a reminder that you're never alone wherever it is that you want to go as long as you have pure intentions. A small leap of faith goes a long way.

4. "Water" by Kanye West

"The storm may come
But we'll get through it because of Your love
Either way, we crash like water
Your love's water
Pure as water
We are water"

Everything that happens to us, whether good or bad, would come to an end. It may seem like you're stuck in the loop of pain and misfortune, but this song is here to remind you that you've been through a lot already, and you will also get through whatever it is that's hurting you right now. Afterall, our lives are just like water. It will flow and it will move on.

5. "See A Victory" by Elevation Worship

"I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord"

It may seem like things are falling apart wherever you look right now. However, this song is a reminder that things are instead falling into place. You may not understand it just yet, but hang in there and things will eventually come into focus.

The truth is, you're bound to get hurt every now and then. It’s never going to be perfect and you’re bound to break down every once in a while. The good thing is, these songs will always remind you there something out there that’s bigger than your worries, fears, and pain.
