The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) just appointed teenage singing sensation and actor Darren Espanto as its very first celebrity Youth Advocate for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with focus on climate action, biodiversity conservation, and youth empowerment.

The "Sasagipin Kita" singer is being tapped to initially help UNDP in raising awareness on the roles that the youth can play in stopping the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The UNDP strengthens capacities of women, men, and institutions in the country to empower them to achieve the SDGs through advocacy and development projects, and with a special focus on vulnerable groups.

The organization took to socials today to spread the news about having D' Total Performer on board as its new Youth Advocate for Sustainable Development Goals with the hashtags #Agenda2030, #DarrenEspanto4UNDP, and #ForPlanetForPeople.

Likewise, Darren said in his post on Instagram that "it is truly an honor" to be a part of this movement and he hopes "to be of service through this endeavor." Way to go, Darren!
