The 2020 version of the song repurposes the fun and zany instrumental of his hit "Pen Pineapple Apple Pen" single. "PPAP-2020" (which now stands for "Pray for People And Peace") aims to remind people about the importance of handwashing in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
