SELENA GOMEZ Will Finally Unveil "Boyfriend" In Deluxe Edition Of ‘Rare’
Selena Gomez has announced the release of a deluxe edition of her latest album Rare featuring three new songs: "Boyfriend", "She" and "Souvenir". It is scheduled for release on Thursday, April 9.
Along with the announcement, the pop star also left a note to her millions of fans, explaining that "Boyfriend" doesn't reflect where she stands right now in terms of dating amid the ongoing global health crisis. She first revealed the existence of the track during an interview with late night show host Jimmy Fallon last January.
"Many of you know how excited I've been to release a song called 'Boyfriend'," she said. "It's a lighthearted song about falling down and getting back up time and time again in love, but also knowing that you don't need anyone other than yourself to be happy." She added, "We wrote it long before our current crisis, but in the context of today. I want to be clear that a boyfriend is nowhere near the top of my list of priorities. Just like the rest of the world, I'm praying for safety, unity and recover during this pandemic."
"Because of that, I'm personally donating to the Plus 1 COVID-19 relief fund as well as donating $1 of every order in my official store to the fund starting now. Rare (Deluxe), featuring 'Boyfriend' is out April 9th," she concluded. Read the full announcement below:
