'Ant-Man 3' Is Officially Happening With Script From 'Rick And Morty' Writer
Even though it wasn't announced as part of Marvel Studios' grand MCU scheme for Phase 4 during last year's San Diego Comic Con and Disney's D23 Expo, the third Ant-Man film starring Paul Rudd is officially happening!
According to a report from THR, director Peyton Reed will return at the helm with Rick and Morty writer Jeff Loveness tapped to pen the script. And while we still have no clue regarding the film's plot, judging by Loveness' work on the hit sci-fi animated series, we can expect some crazy stuff to go down in the third installment.
The film is slated for a 2022 release. Meanwhile, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's fourth phase which was originally supposed to kick off next month with Black Widow has now been moved to November, officially replacing Eternals' premiere date. Other titles like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder have all been pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.
