TROYE SIVAN's "Take Yourself Home" Makes Us Want To Dance And Cry At The Same Time
The weather seems to only get hotter and hotter with each passing day. While in the past, it was enough reason for us to pack our bags and go to the beach, the current global health crisis is keeping us indoors for the meantime. Lucky for us, Troye Sivan has the perfect track to help us chill at the comforts our home.
"Take Yourself Home" is a sad dance track which finds the Australian hitmaker singing, "I'm tired of the city / Scream if you're with me / If I'm gonna die, let's die somewhere pretty," in the chorus.
In a series of tweets, Troye shared how the songwriting process for the track was "a really scary moment for me—being this honest w myself about my happiness and my life and the way all the pieces fit together, or don’t."
He added, "Just like a moment of dude..what r u doing. this isn’t working anymore. go home. go be w ur family. dance. write music. be w ur friends who have known u since u were 2. reevaluate."
