FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE's ADAM SCHLESINGER Dies Of COVID-19 Complications

Adam Schlesinger, noted songwriter and co-founder of power pop band Fountains of Wayne, has passed away due to COVID-19 complications at age 52.

According to reports, he was hospitalized in March and tested positive for the virus just last Tuesday. The band's singer Chris Collingwood even gave fans an update on Instagram one day after Adam's confirmed diagnosis.

Fountains of Wayne is best known for their 2003 hit "Stacy's Mom".

Aside from his work with the New Jersey rock band, Adam is also known for writing the theme song for the 1996 movie That Thing You Do! which earned him an Oscar nomination.

The film's star and director Tom Hanks - who also tested positive for COVID-19 - paid tribute to the late songwriter on Twitter.
