Other K-Dramas to Watch Starring the Squad of 'Itaewon Class'
Karen Jane Ng
As much as we're over the moon that - spoiler ahead - Park Saeroyi has finally gotten his "sweet night" in Itaewon Class, we can't help but feel down now that the series is over. It brought us so much life lessons and introduced to us the DanBam squad who showed us the best kind of friendship that anyone could ever ask for.
We will all definitely miss them and for sure that longing feeling will hit harder once Friday and Saturday come, knowing that there won't be a new episode dropping for the night. We have an idea: How about we fill that void with the cast's other shows? They may not star in it together like Itaewon Class, but nothing is as good as getting to watch them again, right? Plus, their individual projects are all equally remarkable. Here are our recommendations:
1. Park Seo Joon (Park Saeroyi)
Seo Joon has no shortage of quality dramas, especially in the romance genre. But if you want to see a different side of him, we suggest that you give his 2017 movie Midnight Runners a shot where he plays an impulsive police university student. Swear, he and his chemistry with co-star Kang Haneul did an amazing job at making us laugh and staying true to our principles. No dull moment!

2. Kim Dami (Jo Yiseo)
The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion is the first thing you must watch if you've grown to become a fan of Dami. The 2019 action-mystery film earned her various impressive awards for playing a high school student trying to uncover her dark past. It is reportedly getting its second installment either this year or the next. After this, you can conclude that Dami undoubtedly majored in portraying peculiar characters. She's one of a kind.

3. Kim Dong Hee (Jang Geunsoo)
At some point, Dong Hee's character in Itaewon Class lost his loyalty to the squad, but, come on, we got to give the kid a break because, yeah, he's still a kid. And we also give due acknowledgement to how well he pulled it off, the same way he did in another highest-rated drama in history, Sky Castle, where he plays an innocent high school student in a world where social hierarchy matters most. Here you'll see why your budding crush for Dong Hee is there for a reason.

4. Lee Joo Young (Ma Hyunyi)
This girl be stealing literally everyone's attention in every drama she acted in. We don't know about you, but we first fell in love with her as loyal friend Seon Ok in the hit romance series Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. She really has that vibe of making sure a bond remains stronger whatever happens. And do you mind if we say the boyish look gorgeously fits her more than anyone else?
5. Ryu Kyung Soo (Choi Seungkwon)
Kyung Soo may have only supporting roles in his bio so far, with Itaewon Class being the closest to a major one. Regardless, all those are not to be taken for granted, especially when he took part as a doctor in one of 2019's most-talked about films, The Divine Fury. And in case you haven't heard, Seo Joon is the lead star here. We better get to see them work together again!
6. Chris Lyon (Kim Toni)
Among the sextet, American actor Chris is the newest to the K-drama scene. And we're recommending female-action movie Miss & Mrs. Cops not because it's the only project he has to date but also because he made a quick and great impression there. Might as well take a break from dramas and listen to this hip hop producer's music!
It'll be a lot different than seeing them together in Itaewon Class, but, for what it's worth, we'll be able to continue showing them love and support because that's what a true squad does right? On the other side of things, you can still watch Itaewon Class on Netflix and keep crossing your fingers for another season!
