Jennifer Lopez paid tribute to Latin pop sensation Selena ahead of the late singer's 25th death anniversary.

J Lo, who played the "Dreaming of You" hitmaker in a 1997 biopic, took to Instagram to share a special video package from the musical film on its 23rd anniversary. "I can’t believe it’s been 23 years since this incredible movie came out and 25 years since her passing.

She added: "Selena was such an inspiration to me and I was so lucky to be chosen to play her. As an artist, this movie truly was an experience I’m going to remember for the rest of my life."

Selena rose to fame in the early 90s but her blossoming career was cut short on March 31, 1995 after she was shot by her fan club's president Yolanda Saldivar.
