WATCH: SHAILENE WOODLEY Wants To Re-do Her Mug Shot!
Three months after her much publicized arrest for trespassing, Shailene Woodley continues to fight for the rights of the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in Dakota.
While guesting on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last February 13 for the promotion of her new show Big Little Lies, the former Divergent star was asked about her interest in the environment and her arrest.
Stephen first asked for the actress' permission to show a copy of her mug shot which Shai is cool with, "I thought perhaps at first you were auditioning for Orange Is The New Black."
“I wish I’d known that this was going to be as public as it was,” Shai said regarding her infamous mug shot.
The 25-year-old activist admitted she's disoriented while that photo was taken and wishes to re-do it, “I would have made, like, a face. I’m just looking at the person, like, ‘Are you kidding me right now?’”
She further explained that she was with her mother that time, who even witnessed her arrest, “I handed her my phone and I was like, ‘Keep recording.’ I can’t imagine what it would be like to watch your daughter be handcuffed and taken away.”
Shai didn't forget to appeal and urge people to continue protesting and raising awareness, "But the thing I like to sort of start talking about now is that the front lines don't necessarily have to be in the north. The front lines can be where ever you are, you can create a protest...you can create a protest because protests are about creating awareness and about people coming together."
