CHITO MIRANDA, RAYMUND MARASIGAN, & More OPM Artists To Hold Free Online Concerts
International artists like Chris Martin and John Legend have recently taken to social media to entertain their fans with live music amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. And now, local musicians, led by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, have adapted a similar initiative through the Bayanihan, Musikahan series.
According to the living legend who hosted Ryan Ryan Musikahan—the weekly late-night musical show on ABS-CBN from 1988-1995—this new Bayanihan, Musikahan project will feature different artists performing songs through live video feeds on their respective Facebook pages, as well as the program's main page.
Those who have already signed up for the cause are Lea Salonga, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Jaya, Martin Nievera, Jed Madela, Ebe Dancel, Chito Miranda, Raymund Marasigan, and more. (per ABS-CBN News)
The Maestro kicked off the at-home concert series last night. He played "Tuwing Umuulan," "Araw Gabi," and more of his popular hits for almost an hour. See it below.
Bayanihan, Musikahan doesn't only aim to offer entertainment to those currently under home quarantine as it also intends to raise funds for the most vulnerable sectors affected by the COVID-19 threat. More details on donations and target beneficiaries will be announced in the next episodes starting on March 23.
