CATRIONA GRAY Asks For Prayers For Less Fortunate Amid Coronavirus Pandemic
With the Metro Manila enhanced community quarantine in force, former Miss Universe Catriona Gray called on the public to include in their prayers those who continue to work amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"So many places in our world are so contrastingly empty now as we all stay in our homes in the interest of public safety. In isolation and uncertain times it's so easy for fear to overwhelm us and feelings of anxiety to creep in," she wrote on Instagram.
She continued, "I understand many of us don't have the ability to stay home because of the need to go to work to provide for our families and put food on the table. Many of our workers are still going out everyday to help in supplying food, services and especially, those who are tirelessly on the frontlines in all our medical centers and hospitals."
The Fil-Australian beauty queen then urged her followers to pray for wisdom for world leaders, and "the quick progress of a vaccine and the health for all our nations," before addding, "Wherever in the world you are take this as a time to draw close...to your loved ones, family and also to God." As of writing, President Rodrigo Duterte has placed Luzon under "enhanced community quarantine" to halt the rise in confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). That means "that all persons will be subjected to strict home quarantine, no movement and no transportation, except only for frontline health workers, authorized government officials, medical or humanitarian [reasons] as well as transport of basic services and necessities," according to the presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo, as reported by ABS-CBN News.
